Conn's Syndrome
  • aldosterone-secreting tumor
  • excess aldosterone will cause
    • hypertension (aldosterone increasea Na absorption)
    • hypokalemia (aldosterone increases K secretion)
    • low levels of renin (because of the hypertension via negative feedback)
  • will not affect ACTH levels because aldosterone does not exhibit negative feedback on the anterior pituitary
