Minimal Change Disease
  • Also called lipoid nephrosis
  • Most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in children
  • pathological findings
    • EM shows effacement of the podocytes
    • IF, H&E negative
  • Clinical
    • patients are normotensive, unlike other nephrotic syndromes
    • children respond well to steriods (hallmark of disease)
