Synovial Sarcoma
  • Soft tissue tumor (10% of cases)
    • second most common soft tissue tumor in children
  • arises from mesenchymal cells (not synovium) around joints
  • biphasic pattern: epithelial cells forming glands plus intervening spindle cells
  • most show t(X;18) translocation
  • differentiate from Ewing's sarcoma
